Catherine Weitzman

Catherine Weitzman

Catherine Weitzman has been creating her signature line of silver and glass jewelry for the past six years. Her inspiration emerges from her own innate sense of organic stye, her love and respect for the ocean, and her extensive world travels. It was during these travels that Catherine started honing her design skills and had the good fortune to study hand in hand with traditional artisans from many of the exotic locales that for periods of time became home. In addition to apprenticing with metalsmiths at the Scuola Lorenzo di Medici in Florence, Catherine's mentors included the silversmiths of the Sahara, bamboo whittlers from Indonesia, and the creators of precious metal clay in Tokyo. Drawing equally from each of these experiences, Catherine developed her own unique process and style of glass fabrication. She designs much of the work with her husband, Scott Diamond, and is blessed to produce the jewelry with an extremely gifted handmade production team in their California and Hawaii studios. Denise Disharoon

Denise Disharoon

We are very excited to be carrying this lovely line by Denise Disharoon. Denise’s jewelry is inspired by organic forms found throughout the natural world and by the most basic, elemental shapes. She seeks to filter the complexity of patterns repeated in nature and architecture to the essence of single shapes. Denise approaches her jewelry from a sculptural perspective with the intent of endowing each piece with a sense of simplicity, elegance and balance. All pieces are hand crafted from Sterling silver to create both simple and complex works in a wide variety of styles. Denise began working with metals on a large scale creating sculptures of cast bronze and iron in 1991. Interest in other cultures lead her to travel and live throughout Europe and Latin America. There she studied the concept of jewelry as a global, creative expression through a functional art form. Denise explored the techniques of small-scale metal working during her apprenticeship under a master goldsmith of Hamburg, Germany. She cultivated her own style in this detailed, hands on approach and began designing a line of wearable works of art. Fusing her perspective of natural elements and architectural forms, Denise Disharoon’s oeuvre of delicate geometric and organic jewelry emerged. Each hand-forged piece is created by manipulating raw metal into shape—first through heat, then by hammering. The piece is then finished with a glass brushed technique that transforms the “high polished” look of the metal into an elegant finish. Bookmark and Share
